The face of cancer is changing. It was once a disease that you died from. Now it is a disease you can survive. Research is changing everything. Breakthrough Cancer Research scientists and clinicians work tirelessly to develop new treatments for those cancers which cannot yet be cured.

They are the only charity in Ireland dedicated to funding the efficient and effective development of new treatments for cancer. Research programmes funded by Breakthrough Cancer Research must focus on translating lab discoveries into new treatment opportunities. To this end they work closely with clinicians throughout Ireland and abroad so that their research is targeted at finding new options for poor prognosis and incurable cancers.

Breakthrough Cancer Research – Where Hope Lives.
Over the past 15 years research funded by the charity has led to a number of clinical trials for new treatments and have advanced the understanding of new treatment options. Through research we can impact on the number of people in Ireland who can survive a cancer diagnosis.

A Promise
“Breakthrough Cancer Research’s promise to the people of Ireland is to understand why certain cancers do not respond to conventional therapies and to find new treatments that will work. Their passionate and innovative scientists work tirelessly to ensure new treatments are developed that can save lives.”

Clondulane National School
Situated in the beautiful village of Clondulane, near Fermoy in County Cork, Clondulane National School (Scoil Mhuire gan Smál) caters for children from Junior Infants to 6th class.

In spring of 2015 due to every increasing student numbers, we have built two new classrooms for our school. We are currently fundraising for a small shortfall to complete all building works.

Clondulane National School is a vital part of this thriving community and we are proud that it is also used by the non-school going residents for other vital civic functions such as voting etc.
